Equinox Explorations
Fall is here, in the cool breeze and softening sunlight. Today we acknowledged the change of seasons, tuning in to a fall classic: the acorn!
At the playground we foraged and studied—observing acorn shapes, sizes, and colors—and collected our nutty friends for a future natural dyeing project.
We became even more curious, asking questions like, “Why are they small? Why are they cute? Why do they exist? Who eats them?” Which we will explore and contemplate through the season.
Besides acorns we also foraged sticks for experimental sculpture projects. As the season of harvest, fall also calls us to practice cooperation and preparation.
So, naturally, we worked together to forage the biggest stick we could find! It was so fun to practice carrying it collectively, being mindful of weight distribution, other pedestrians, and amused onlookers. Check out our harvest and cool creations!
