Salamander arts

a small group collaborative arts program for kids ages 5-10 (ish)

Salamander Arts is a unique youth program, focusing on collaborative and experimental art-making. We offer a space for kids to unwind, connect, develop their creative interests, and learn embodied mindfulness practices that serve them in every aspect of life.
We meet in a cozy in-home studio in West Philly, and are now enjoying our 5th year in community!

We also offer workshops for families, and one-to-one support sessions. Contact us to learn more!

“Salamander Arts provided a warm, supportive, creative environment for kids of all ages, and our 5 yr old loved it. She made friends, had a great time, and was proud of her artistic endeavors. We’d send her back in a heartbeat.”

Fall 2025 - Weaving Wilderness!

with Kenni Field
Mondays 3:30-6pm, Sept 8 - Dec 22

In Weaving Wilderness, we blend together the worlds of nature and crafting! Children that register for this class partake in expeditions to local parks to learn about native plants, insects and animals through the changing seasons. Back in the classroom, we construct functional and fantastical creations inspired by fall and the beginning of winter. Empower your child to learn and create with the natural world around them, sign up today!

Kenni is a Certified Trauma Informed Teaching Artist & Ceramic Artist in their third year with Salamander Arts! They care deeply about community well-being, and utilizing creative expression as a tool for collective healing.  They are a former cofounder of the 2.0 Art Collective, and have taught workshops for BIPOC femme and GNC folks throughout Philadelphia.
