Making Cover Art

In one of our past Sound and Movement groups we explored interdisciplinary art by translating the sonic into the visual. We used the prompt: “create a visual representation of a song you enjoy.” Salamanders were encouraged to think of simplicity vs. complexity, sound as colors and shapes, and to draw imagery from any lyrics they could remember.

We had a whole spectrum of interesting and thoughtful work! From a pirate ship battle scene to an anthology of soundwaves and symbolic vignettes we really got our creativity flowing as we enjoyed our inspiration playlist.
